BioWare, a member of the incredible family of EA studios, has created some of the world's best-selling titles including the award-winning Baldur's Gate, the Neverwinter Nights series, and Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic. Original BioWare-created IPs include the critically acclaimed Mass Effect, the epic fantasy RPG Dragon Age, Jade Empire, and Sonic Chronicles: The Dark Brotherhood. BioWare Austin is hard at work on the massively multiplayer online game, Star Wars: The Old Republic.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Designs, develops, writes, tests, implements and reports on performance tests for all platform components
- Works with other engineers and QA to determine test harnesses
- Provides insight and suggestions for increased scalability or performance based on test results
- Ability to manipulate/manage all parts of the software and hardware stack (load balancers, web servers, application servers, database instances)
- Accurately estimates his/her schedules and delivers high quality work products to that schedule.
QUALIFICATIONS
- University degree or graduate of a recognized post secondary program in software engineering or related discipline is strongly preferred.
- 2-3 years of performance load testing large commercial applications and web site.
- 3-4 years of Java programming experience
- Strong expertise in load testing tools, NeoLoad experience a plus
- LAMP / Drupal skills would be a plus
- Ability to work under pressure within a multidisciplinary team.
- Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.
- Superior time management and organizational skills.
- Excellent attention to detail.

- Works closely with QA to identify and resolve defects in code, maintains and aids in resolving any issues that arise with implemented features

- Aids in maintaining the overall stability of the build system
- Works with programmers, project managers, and other personnel involved in the development of products as required
- Writes clear, maintainable, portable code

QUALIFICATIONS

- Perl programming and Cygwin experience required
- C++, Python, Java and/or Groovy programming experience a plus
- Linux systems and programming experience

- Software configuration management (SCM) systems experience; Perforce preferred
- Build systems experience, e.g. QuickBuild, Electric Cloud, etc.
- Familiarity with branched development processes
- Familiar with code review processes

- Strong verbal and written communication skills
