Streaming Video on Amazon EC2?

An Amazon EC2 Flash Video Streaming solution has been announced by Wowza Media. What do you think about the future of similar solutions? Is Amazon EC2 and S3 ready for video streaming?
I have found threads on their forums related to the performance, scalability and high availability of the hosted streaming solution. How would you make it scalable? Is it really cheaper than traditional hosting?
Looking forward to your thoughts!

Interesting. If their performance numbers are accurate: http://www.wowzamedia.com/faq.html#f1, it looks pretty promising and already seems scalable, minus the ability to serve content close to consumers like a CDN can do. No idea about the pricing.
thinking of this as a comm platform is great, but there is some question about it for building and deploying real business services, such as : EC2 global nodes availability, Latency in global access and between clustered server, SLA and ...however, EC2 is a emerging-generation of storage and computing solutions.
If Amazon could have a bundled solution combining S3 and EC2 for streaming with CloudFront to back up big spikes in traffic, this could be a very nice solution.
