Google Voice Architecture

Do you have any information on the architecture behind Google Voice, the new service by Google that offers one Google Number for all your calls and SMS? It is based on GrandCentral who has been acquired by Google 2 years ago.

Free U.S. Calls with Google Voice. At least for now, calls through Google Voice to phone numbers in the United States are free. And the rates are quite reasonable to other countries. It's a penny a minute to Canada and two cents a minute to many other countries whose names don't include the word "island.".
