Stuff The Internet Says On Scalability For December 2, 2011

Sorry, this edition of Stuff the Internet on Scalability has been called on the account of two straight days of whipping, whirling, wind that has left me powerless to complete the post. Service will resume when Mother Nature is nicer. Pardon me while I try and find our roof...

Hi Todd,

we all expect a brutally honest post-failure write-up on how your office's electrical power high availability strategy broke down :)

Have you found the roof?

You need make it more "wind" tolerant :)

so the roof is the bottleneck?

Russell, it actually did pretty well. We weren't out of power for very long considering the wild wind we had. I had my ipad and a separate verizon connection, but I can't edit anything on the ipad. I need multiple large screens so I can cut and past and browse. So an F for the website, but a B+ for general connectivity.

Helen, the roof actually stayed on perfectly. I swear it did sound like it was gone though. The hot tub had some damage, a few broken trees, the cover for the BBQ is in Santa Cruz I think, and other miscellaneous, but remarkably little damage overall.

ddorian, only to the rain :-)
